YChristi Designs was started to provide elegant, sophisticated handcrafted jewelry to women and men in the Portland Oregon metropolitan area, and yet keep it affordable at the same time. Yvonne Dollard is the chief designer who along, with a friend, wanted to learn how to make jewelry. They started together, but Yvonne decided with the encouragement of her husband, Mark, to start marketing and form a business out of the adventure. Soon, Mark started designing some pieces as well and now they have a true wife and husband partnership. You can see the fruits of their labor here at YChristidesigns.com. We welcome the opportunity to create custom creations and our goal is to provide you an enjoyable experience in both visiting the site as well as in wearing your new treasure. We want to satisfy your desires for jewelry that meets and exceeds your expectations. So don’t be shy. Look around at all that YChristi Designs has to offer in handcrafted jewelry! Artist Statement I began making jewelry sitting across the kitchen table from my friend, Trisha, leaning how to open jump rings, attach a ready-made dangle, and close the jump ring. From that very basic beginning, came the first tentative steps toward a business. We set up a booth at a small, local Saturday craft fair, featuring our handmade items. I began taking classes, in person and on line, gathering skills and preferences. Over time, I found my niche in wire, beads and chain. I love adding my own flair, adding semi-precious gemstones, Czech glass, pearl and lots of color, all of which make me happy, and I find myself spending hours creating. Sometimes the original thought morphs into something completely different as my idea changes. I make jewelry for the woman who has a very definite idea of who she i and wants her jewelry to project her own uniqueness and confidence, jewelry that will complete her well-thought out wardrobe and enhance her personal aura.
